No. Nothing will change the fact that at 4000 rpm the SC is at about 30% of max boost whereas the turbo (if chosen correctly) will be at 100%.

Reliability isn't about which you chose, but about how you implement. I'm using the AEM and UEGO, bigger injectors and oil cooling. Has proven to be very reliable.

I get it - thanks. The dyno charts are indeed very different.

in their Part list they say Fuel pump also and something about fuel lines?
Maybe the Fuel rail is changed also?New fuel pump?how big this time?
And the gain is 71 hp.
As I see it....A race between a turbo and a Sc car the SC would probably win with this setup if the cars were doing a race from stand still....No boost at lower Rpm so better launch and no wheel spin or little, and turbo is more difficult to start from a standstill I think. And once you get to Vtec the Difference between turbo and this Upgraded CTSC would be minimal or nothing...Lets Face it SC power delivery is linear and if you are a good shifter and keep it between 6.5 and 9 krpm no turbo will pass you by.
But there is a down side. You pay 6k$ for the SC and 3k$ for the upgrade and you end up Far more than any Turbo...
And From a roll start at 4 krpm I bet on the turbo to Pull and stay the distance it makes till the SC kicks Boost of its own....than I think there wont be any pulling on the Turbo Side....If the Turbo car is putting 440whp than no need to discuss this point.
And I haven't Come across if Two Stock SC cars race which one will win?
Vortech or Comptech?I would say Vortech cos 7psi.
Standstill and roll?
Who?
And The Power Upgrade is Great and you can go off far cheaper but you wont have to worry with this Pack. You take the car and you get it more powerful back. And 3.5k$ less ofcourse....
My opinion.

So many people are posting opinions these days suffixed with "I think". What it says to me is "I imagine, but I don't know" or "I'm not real sure about that last statement".

You are comparing a known product (Comptech SC) and a fairly well understood upgrade (SOS) with some unstated nefarious turbo. Which turbo are you referring to? How big is it?

The whole lag myth of turbos comes from big turbos designed for ballistic top ends. With a sensible turbo spec'd with similar intentions to a Comptech SC (say a GT3071R set at 6psi) there is no noticable lag whatsoever. Even with a drag racing 7000 rpm start the turbo will walk away from the SC w/SOS as at every gear change the SC will drop below peak boost.

This is not what I think. This is what I know. I've run a Comptech SC, upgraded it almost exactly like the SOS kit, and now run a LoveFab turbo.

well you can talk out of experience.
I was thinking a Lovefab turbo when I was thinking about the Power upgrade from SOS.
So you are saying that when you upgrade from Stock to CTSC you got that WOW feeling and after a while you got used to it and as I understand you ,you say that you got that same WoW felling that made the difference from stock to FI when you upgraded from CTSC/SOS to the LoveFab?Is that much of a difference?
And I say I think because I Got the only S in my country and its SC since last two weeks.
Not too much power in the lower RPM is a good thing From a standstill in my opinion. But Different Tastes and different Setups but in the end even if and when you beat my S we still drive the same Cars and we share the same love for it no matter how faster you are or how slower I am..I love Honda...and She seems to appreciate it.
And in the end ----the S is Enjoyed in my opinion when you drive slower than usual and TOP down.
And as far as the tuning...I see a bigger pulley down the road a AEM EMS and larger injectors but the thing that freaks me out is that there is no Tuner shop here that has any Tuning Experience on the Dyno and we Got a dyno Few months Back and If I am gonna tune it I will be the first one to do it and will have to learn it on my car which scares me.
That's why I got the SC which is a direct bolt-on and out of the box.
No tuning no fuss, just added power.
Thanks

Stena,
I have a SC and resistance is futile.

IMO
Turbo>SC
300 hp turbo> 360 hp SC
It's not even close. Too bad we have to deal with CARB and SMOG in CA...$2,500 for emissions violations with possible impounding.

When you look at a dyno plot it's static. A turbo will move through the RPM band linearly vs progressively with the SC. As Aus said earlier, you get peak boost sooner, and you don't HAVE to wind the motor out to get it every time. Less high RPM, more engine longevity.

Agreed.
Turbo Better than SC for race and everyday user IS SC.
ANd as i see it no boost at lower Rpm Better...It works just like Stock.

But I want to know what sort of MPG a turbo gets off the boost.

Anyone?
