selecting the right turbo
hi everyone new to the s2k with only 3 months ownership and already i want to boost coming from my old wrx. ive been reading a little bit but would rather get an answer from guys that have been boosting s2000's for a while. my ideal set up is probably to be around 350- 400 hp max. obviously everyone wants reliability. i would like to get any advice i can, should i stay with stock head gasket or go 3mm? ive heard looking at the power i want would stock hg be more reliable and less likely to blow? i was looking at pfabs garret t3/60-1. what a/r should i get? i will expand later for more power but dont wanna blow my motor with owing as much as i do right away
i would also prefer to stay around 9 or 10 psi assuming thats a more reliable boost

60-1 is wayyy too big for 350 hp. you can make that with a gt28rs and have crazyyy spool, it will feel fast almost right off idle!
i have t3/t4 w/.82AR on flat ground and full throttle its fully spooled to 9psi around 5000rpms. I kinda wish i would have got the .63AR but this one is fine and saves me gas(avg around 27mpg per tank)
check out ATPturbo.com they sell nice factory built garrett turbos and all the gaskets/lines/hardware you might need.

3071r or 3076r the 3076 will give you a bit more room for power growth up to 525 whp. 3071 will spool quicker but run out of power at the top a lot faster,, especially if/when you want to up the boost. Go with an ELM, either full race, pfab, or custom you will be glad you did in the long run. I would stick with the stock CR, the engine will hold up fine at 10-16 psi if it is tuned right. FYI, People are running way past that psi/whp on the stock CR with much sucess. The s2000 engine is stronger than you may think. Lots of info on here, just be real about what your goals are with the car and search form there. Take your time
and do your research, it will save you a lot of time and money in the long run.
Good luck
