Default Sent my piping to be coated 4weeks ago

Here goes...I was gonna be outta town for 2 weeks so I dropped off the ride and told them to have the piping ceramic coated and install my Cusco roll bar. They told me 3 day turnaround on the piping that it was through a local guy. Here it is 3 and a half weeks later and he gets the piping back and the turbo fins are broken or something and the wheel doesnt spin smoothly I had Loefab build my downpipe for this turbo, which is the one off of the UR gen II kit, and now I am going to be getting a free turbo replacement. Is there anything i can run that is better than the turbo I had, but will still bolt up to the bolt pattern on my Lovefab downpipe? I am beyond pissed at the situation. The reason for the delay was UPS took too long I was told. Yet, I was under the impression this guy was local. Go figure...I'm soooo frustrated...approaching 6 mos. of downtime in the past year.

I don't even know who was coating it. I handed it over to my mechanic, who I trust, and he got screwed, but it'll all be covered. Just more downtime

The housing was taken off I think. I don't know what happened. I haven't even seen it, I just know that my mechanic told me that this is the case.

i assumed that the fins were damaged while the car was running.

Sounds like it was damaged while they were taking stuff off?

anyways, what turbo were you running that was damaged?

It was the turbo from the UR gen II kit. It's a t3/t04e 60-1. I have to explain that all the time and I dont know what it means. I just spoke to my mechanic and he dropped it off at Turbo Diesel & Injection Systems INC. here in Atlanta. He said that they are going to look at it tomorrow and see if it can be rebuilt. They are a certified Garrett distributor and rebuild to manufacturer specs. Do y'all know if a remanufactured turbo is as good as new? My mechanic said they balance the shaft and have all the equipment necessary to make it right. I just want the car back and running again. Ultimate Racing can sell me the turbo, but it is 850 bucks and my mechanic wants to see what these guys say before he shells out the cash.

Is it possible to rebuild it with better components like ceramic ball-bearings?

Will it come back to you with a warranty of any kind?

If not, I would get a new turbo.

The bearing catridge is pretty expensive and I think all ball bearing turbos have to be water cooled? Anyone?

It would probably be cheaper to just get a GT30/35R.
