Is there a specific cable that works with the serial to usb cable, I think a driver is need for the cable, just one to get one that has worked for other people.

I'm assuming you are referring to the one that you use to program the guage, and not the one that connects the guage to the ecu correct?

If so any serial/usb should work, if thats all you have.

I'd say it would be easier to find an older laptop that still has serial...lol.

Look on eBay, you can find one for cheap instead of paying radio shack prices.

& yes, you will need a driver for the cable.

 

I purchased a 6 foot serial to usb cable from my local radioshack. I do not recall the brand, but I know it was the only brand they had. Could have picked one up cheaper online probally.

 

I use the Vantec converter on all the EMS stuff and my Innovate boxes with no problems

Works well for me.

 

IO gear serial to usb.. its the one they use on AEM You tube vids

 

the one from RadioShack is more but is a really good adapter. I use it a lot in industrial work and it never misses a beat unlike the cheaper ones.
