Default Short Block project ?s

I think this should be posted in UTH. Anyways, I am about to embark on my turbocharging adventure. Currently, I am gonna run the 7psi on my stock motor. However, I recently purchased a used short block for when my motor eventually gives out, or I get it completely built, whichever is first. I would like some input from y'all about what I can do to make it more boost friendly. I am thinking low compression pistons, sleeving the block, maybe a stroker kit. What else should I consider? All ideas and opinions welcome, and I hope this is in the right forum, otherwise move it please.
TIA
Jonathan

Thanks xviper and Fperra. I called that guy, and he was very helpful. I might just send him the block and let him have his way with it. Anyone else have ideas or suggestions?

I had my block built at AEBS in California. Some guys have used Mike Simon in Ohio. Another shop that I recently heard of is Sunbelt Performance Engines in Bufford, GA (north of Alanta). They build Speed World Challenge engines and do their own sleeving. They might be a good resource to have in your backyard.

I've heard good things from Sunbelt, but I haven't had any work done by them.

I would prefer to stick to a competent local shop if I had the option.

Well, I talked to a guy at Benson. I was gonna ship it to him this week, but Sunbelt is only 30 minutes from me. My mechanic actually suggested them. Hmmm. That would save money on shipping, and they do build top fuel engines. Im sure they could handle an F20C. Do yall think that's the best way to go?

Frankly, only AEBS and Mike Simon have had extensive experience with the F20C. That said, if all things are equal, I'd go with Sunbelt because of the proximity. Call Jim at Sunbelt. Ask him about their sleeves, prices, timeframe, and experience with the F20C before you make a decision. I was told that their first priority is to their racing customers. Last week, they had an F20C in their shop for a complete rebuild. They are shooting for 500 whp on that motor. FYI, AEBS took 3 months to complete my motor - not including shipping time (one week on each end).

I don't know about Sunbelt building Fuel Motors. ( Most Fuel and Alcohol teams do that themselves) I do belive they built the engines for Turner Motorsport BMW, and the Mazdaspeed World challenge cars. When I walked through Sunbelt last year they had a decent mix of Import and Domestic engines. Everything from Small block Chevys, B18's and 240Z motors. They also have a Superflow engine dyno, for out of the car testing.

It definitely sounds as if they're worthy of building my engine
I'll give them a call and find out all the info. I figure if I am gonna be doing all this work on building the block, I will be aiming at about 500hp or so as well. Thanks for all the advice. This is my first FI project, and I wanna do it right.
