Default Smaller Oil Filter?

So I have been thinking about using a slightly smaller oil filter and I just wanted to know what you guys think? I have a number for one that is about a half inch shorter than normal size and a little smaller in diameter, but has all of the same specs. Since I change my oil more often than most, I dont think less filtering material would be an issue. Mainly, I want to gain a little more clearance between the filter and downpipe, but with seeing threads about blown seals from a oil filter relocation kit, I don't want to mess with that.

ALL s2000s use the larger filter. Since your that close, have you even considered the effects of the termendous amount of heat that close to your oil filter? Doing an oil filter relocation is not that hard.

I know its not "hard" to relocate it, but like I said before, I dont want to chance having the seals blow out like the couple of recent posts Ive seen. What kit would you use if you were to buy one? Ive got a little room and I havent noticed any problems with my filters right now, but I do like the idea of having both an oil cooler and a filter a little further away from the heat.

Just relocate it. Then you gain some capacity in the system and can run a bigger filter also. Double win.

Many Honda dealers were using other oil filters on the S2000, I think they were Accord filters, just because the other filters were more readily available rather than specially ordering PCX filters.
