SOS install
Got the SOS clutch installed took 16 hours. The engagement point is going to take some getting used to. It is also very "skippy" feeling when engaging, but I anticipate that will clear up some after the clutch is broken in. Next weekend supercharger!!!
Question - did you grease the bearing and mainshaft collar during the install? Mine were bone dry and it made the SOS clutch really hard to engage because the bearing was gouging into the collar. Also, did you tighten everything down in a star pattern so it's evenly torqued? Mine wasn't, and it only grabbed on one half of the flywheel.
Everybody with an SOS clutch says it does a little bit of chattering or stuttering, so if it's minor don't worry about it.

I changed the slave and master about a year ago (and gravity bleed so fluid is good) and adjusted it to stock engagement point, but the SOS documentation recommends to adjust to zero free play which I did. I may adjust it back to stock we'll see. @torqueobsessed yes I greased the heck out if everything used about a 1/3 of a jar of the urea grease. I was also very careful about the torquing since doing the job is such a pain didn't want to do it again anytime soon . Maybe the chattering will calm down some. It does have a lot less buzz than stock which is a plus.
Mine chattered a lot when I first got it installed. I thought the installer did something wrong but he told me his aftermarket clutch did the same. Luckily, it does calm down a good bit after a while. It's super light though!
I dont remember that part. Doesn't make sense. You dont want to run any clutch without free play. Good way to induce some slipping and or shorten its life. You need at least a little free play to know the friction disc is completely seated with no pressure. I set mine like every other clutch I have, the right amount of free play and peddle height even with brake peddle height.
The SOS clutch feels pretty darn light, but close to stock other then some chatter when going in reverse sometimes. Ive been very happy with it.
Finished the install last night. It was not bad at all took us about 12 hours not rushing anything. My buddy, who is a MECP master technician, installed the computer, gauges, after cooler pump, and fuel pump it took him no time to install all of this. I used the injector wizard to adapt my 650cc injectors to the AP1 supercharged with 750cc calibration file, which is included with aemtuner. Everything runs like a champ I am getting it tuned this weekend. I did some data logging last night and the afr looks pretty spot on. I will upload some photos and a video later.
