I suspect that the EFR 7163 would fit on the bottom the way a Full Race manifold would mount it. That could be a very, very interesting setup...

Just to be clear, the SOS turbo kit is based around the Garrett Evo X turbine housing:

Yes that's turbo they use except it has the smaller compressor housing, not the 4 inch housing shown there.

So it seems the only way to avoid that power loss up top is to avoid the divided manifold/turbine housing.

Maybe a dumb question but why can't SOS use a single scroll manifold and forget this twin scroll nonsense? Maybe people would buy their kit! The kit itself looks great aside from this major problem with its overall performance. Let's face it, no one is beating down the door due to the issue of power flatlining after 7k.

sorry if I'm mistaken, but i keep hearing you guys saying the SOS kit is "track-purpose" built, but has anyone actually tracked this kit reliably?

SOS built and raced their car with it and made several copies. There's also a local guy here in AZ (note: hot) and beats it regularly without problems. He does have the V-mount which is probably a strong contributing factor to said reliability.

I'm still seriously considering the SOS kit, even though it flatlines near red line. However I don't think it's because of the twin scroll design. Just more so the turbine housing used. And that's in part of the simplicity designed in the kit. Would using the larger turbine housing for the evo x work or fit with some modifications? Gawd, I have tons of questions but don't want to be bothering anyone with them until I think I've done enough research myself to try and find out. But it would just be much simpler to ask the more knowledgable turbo folks on here.

if they were to do a group buy i bet more people would buy it...i know i would... but nearly $2000 more than a supercharger kit that can get you at same whp or higher...its a tough decision...
