Default SOT or SOS

Okay, looking to supercharge my car, at one point I was full go on the SOS kit but than I stumble upon a youtube video of I think MugenRioS2k car on the dyno. When searching I found out it was a roots blower, so now I'm stuck.

SOT pros
* torque at the mid range
* price
* the sexy banshee scream it makes

SOT cons
* relocation of A/C lines and battery

SOS pro
* bolt on kit/plug and play
* no relocating of anything

SOS cons
* Mid range torque like the eaton m62

HELP!!!!!

IMO, SOT is how the car should have come from Honda. SOS is the way to go if you can't control your boost addiction.

The AC lines do not have to be relocated on the SOT kit. If you are OK with the appearance, you can bend the AC lines a little to the side and they will work fine. I have been using this arrangement for about 35K miles with no problems.

no offense to the SOT owners, but the SOT kit looks like a cluster f*** under the hood.

SOS all the way, make sure you order the Novi 1200 upgrade right away.

edit, check this thread out. https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=794115

This user has a turbo wastegate on his CTSC setup to keep the boost under a certain amount so you can run the max boost of the blower without going a desired boost level.

[QUOTE=deathsled,Jun 5 2010, 01:25 PM]Ok so this is actually functional.

Happy SOT owner here. You are limited as to how much power you can get in total with the SOT, but I am not complaining. Its is pretty quick, and if you put your foot into it you will get to seriously illegal speeds in no time. It is not going to keep up with the high whp turbos on the board, but it is plenty fast without the power levels that start a guy like me breaking things or wrapping it around a tree.

I am fine with where it is for power out of the box and you can get them cheap from James if you can find his contact information.

I always thought that the kit would be enough power for me and it has been. I am not about street/track/drag racing just wanted to make the car a blast to drive around town and thats what I got.

The install could be easier but the kit is worth the money and its fun enough that it keeps me from spending money on a Cayman.

its tight, but aint as tight as a log mani with a huge ****er turbo on it. i can get to my oil filter no problem, honestly, the only thing that is a pita is the air filter, and the ac lines.

you can bend them, but truthfully everything looks so much better if you relocate them. power wise, 350whp vs anything else 350whp the sot kit has huge midrange power.

anywho, the big question you have to ask yourself if your interested in a sot kit, is how much power will i be happy with. 350whp or lower and this kit is for you. 350-425ish you would have to decide between a sos 1200 blower or a turbo kit. turbo will have more midrange then a 1200 blower, but different power delivery and more/less headaches depending on who you ask.

having had the sot on the car for 10k miles, 2 dragon trips, whatnots, i can tell you at 350whp its a blast.

wish i knew someone with a machine shop and who was a car nut, be nice to try and shoehorn a tvs1320 or mp90-mp112 in there. maybe jackshaft it so that the blower can pooint the opposite way.

ehh, anyways, good luck wiht your decision.

My thoughts exactly.

I would go SOT kit in a heart beat especially with the lower pricing.
