Thumbs down Split Second Timing Box and MAP clamp

Symptoms - Engine would bog down at anything above half throttle and not allow the vtec to kick it! About half the power as a stock S2K. !!! Here's what my problem was!

Hey guys, figured i would share since everyone helps me out on here! I bought the vortech kit for my '02 S and had a slight problem with install that gave me a huge headache so wanted to share the result to help others.
I have the Split second Timing (programable) control box. THis is the same one the vortech gives, but i got mine from split second, 300 bucks cheaper that way. And also the VC2-5 adjusteable MAP clamp, vortech offers Split Second's MAP clamp but not the adjustable one, the VC2-5 was $81 and their newest one, where vortech offeres their older version that is not adjustable for $118. ANyways mine is preset at 2.8volts as suggested by Mark at Split Second! The wiring for the VC2-5 is a little diff than the vortech diagram. There are 4 wires, red, black, blue, and blue/white. The diff is that the blue/white one is in place of the solid white one in the diagram from vortech. Here's the catch. The RED pos. wire must go to a 5 volt power supply bc it works with the factory MAP where the older version does not work WITH but it more less overrides the factory one. So case in point, if u have the VC2-5 MAP clamp from Split Second Tuning (which is great bc u can adjust the volts) u must hook the power (RED) from the MAP clamp to yellow/red stripe wire on the blue 31pin connector to the ecu, just tap into it. This is 5v and this is what is needed. It is also the power for the MAP sensor (factory one) on the throttle body, so it's definitely the amount of power needed. I used a volt meter to verify, so let me know if u have any questions with the vortech setup. I intalled everything myself and def. a lot with Split Seconds equipment. Thanks ! Hope this helps someone out!
