Badass right there. Can't believe this thread isn't getting more attention.

I love the raw emotion in the video. If "Stock Block F22 runs 8's" is the headline - the first line below that is "Flashpro tuned Honda runs 8's".

Man I'd pay good money to know what his bottom end bearings look like before he grenades it. He must have gotten stupid lucky and got one that was on the far end of the loose spectrum...even then, I think the largest oem spec is like .0015"?

Some observations:

What impressed me most was that thus was done with a manual transmission.

His improved times seemed to correlate with less time spent bouncing off rev limiter between shifts. There is probably still more gains possible just by shifting a fraction sooner. Its amazing how quickly he needs to shift through the first couple of gears.

He is justifiably proud of his accomplishment.

People aren't taking covid very seriously in the area this took place.

He added more boost in first and second gear. Thats why his times were faster.

You make a good point that the amount of reduced time was too great for just better shifting. But does that mean improved shifting technique didn't also contribute something to this astounding run?

I think its a little bit of both. I talked to the owner. He has done over 50 passes on the stock motor so far. Pretty crazy. I am starting to think the stock motor is the way to go if you want to keep it under 1000 HP. Just pull it out every so often to refresh it.

I can promise you he is just VERY lucky with the bearing clearances. If you were to happen to have a stock motor on the tighter end of the spectrum on the bearings IE .0007" there is no way in hell it would last
