Default Stock Map and Boost

I was doing some datalogging the other night and making some small fuel adjustments to my maps (greddy emanage with CTSC w AC and 550cc injectors) and i was checking the datalogs of the stock map sensor. It was bouncing all over the place (with a trend of boost increasing) Example: one scan said 5.4psi then the next scan said 7.6 then 6.3 then 8.1 then 5.6 etc. Im just wondering if theres any way to smooth that out at all? Im adjusting timing based on the MAP pressure so when the map sensor shows 5.6 psi im not removing any timing but the car IS at 8krpm and it does see more than 5.6psi at that point (More along the value of 7psi). My datalog says 0 adjustment for timing but im at 8krpm!!!! each scan is every 20ms so am i being paranoid?

Any input appreciated.

stock map sensor is garbage. doesnt read nearly as well as aftermarket ones. i think thats what your seeing. so your not pulling any timing at 5-7psi up top?

No I am pulling timing.

Now the example I'm goingto give isn't exact numbers. When I'm accelerating at WOT at 8k rpm the map sensor is bouncing around from around 5.8 psi to 7.6 psi so in my emanage I pull timing based on this fluctuating reading ( example: at 5.8psi I pull 1 degree and at 7.6 psi I pull 3 degrees. ) so at one point at 8krpm I'm pulling 1 degree of timing and at another point at 8krpm I'm pulling 3 degrees of timing due to the bouncing map voltage( boost reading).

Now this scanning isn't as quick as the emanage in real time but this datalog kinda has me bothered since I can freeze frame on one instance at 8k where I pull no timing (assuming the stock map sees 5.5 psi or less for one 20ms scan.

I don't see how going to the tuner is going to help my question. A tuner will pull timing based on knock but maybe the 10 pulls on the dyno I have no problems. Doesn't mean I won't have this problem later.

again, aftermarket map sensor will read more consistent. my stock map did the same bouncing.

Stock maps have a smaller resolution, thats why you are seeing it bounce.

I'd get a 3bar and you will be able to do what you want.

Just remember to rescale the map after you swap sensors.
