In my opinion, I say buy a close to stock one and build it to your likings. You'll know the true history of it. You can also say that you built it and not bought it.

I def buy an NA S2000 and then supercharge it yourself. Can be fine to buy one already supercharged but I would feel more safe buying one NA. I would def NOT buy a turbo'd S2000 though. Gonna most likely be filled with headaches imo.
Can find used supercharger kits for $3000 range and then install yourself.
Def recommend supercharging the car though one way or another! Pretty key mod I think.

Kraftwerks offers a pretty badass supercharger kit for the S2K. Once my money starts being better for me, I plan on s'ching the S, too. K?
eh...SOS is looking better for $400 less. I've got a running debate about that very thing right now

You can save a ton of money if you buy a supercharged s2000. As long as your compression is strong and the checks out well (oil test) you should be fine.

true, but a higher probability when someone starts modding a car and then wants to sell it. It's usually a red flag to me that something went wrong during or after tuning...or that tuning wasn't done at all. Either way, the seller doesn't want the car any more, which is even more a concern when someone boosts a factory NA car.

Buy it stock and drive it that way for a while, that way you'll really appreciate the power boost that the supercharger gives you when you put it on.
