Default Supercharger with 4.57 gears...

I have a question I was kind of pondering... If I were to buy 4.57 gears when I supercharged my car wouldn't I need to shift a whole lot more considering with the s/c I'd hit redline ALOT faster anyways? Would the 4.57 make a difference or would it just be overkill?

Thanks you guys,
Nick

I've heard that 4.57 gears + a stock S/C setup is perfect. The gears give you the lowend and the S/C gives you the top end.

I think once you decide to up the boost, it is probably a good idea to swich back to the stock gears. But then again you don't have to.

SC'r and 4.57s here. Honestly, it took me about a week to get used to speed change at redline. The two go together like balogna and cheeze.

Last week with the top down I destroyed a G35c with the top down from a 70mph start with him getting the jump. I actually had to change lanes and go around him.

Try SC W/AC and 4.77's. Now there is a lower end and upper end. Lot's of shifting, but that's not a bad thing.

That's what I'm worried about, I don't want to be cruising around at 50mph in 6th gear at 8500rpms... Does anyone have a chart that shows the difference in shift points between gear ratios?

Here is the link from xviper. Took me long enough to find it.
http://www.turnzero.com/technical_resource...gear_calculator

I sent a PM to turbo power to see if we can get this link into it's own thread under the FAQ-Differential section since this question is asked often.
