That's why I'm not doing gears... I don't want high cruising RPMs. Anyone done 4.57s and some sort of taller 6th gear swap?

4.57's are perfect for any boost, although you may find them too short once you go above 400rwhp. With that said, I'm looking forward to rowing the boat.

Am having my 4.57's removed this week. I will have to report back on it, but I am hoping to better match an AP1's shift points.

Don't listen to that crap, he's pulling info out his rear... IE making it up.

4.57's, 80mph, 4800rpm.

MY00-MY03 w/Stock gears (4.10)
1st gear: 42 mph
2nd gear: 65 mph
3rd gear: 90 mph
4th gear: 115 mph
5th gear: 138 mph
6th gear: 165 mph
70 mph = 3800 rpm

MY00-MY03 w/ 4.57-R gears
1st gear: 38 mph
2nd gear: 58 mph
3rd gear: 81 mph
4th gear: 103 mph
5th gear: 123 mph
6th gear: 148 mph
70 mph = 4200 rpm

MY04-MY06 w/Stock gears (4.10)
1st gear: 36 mph
2nd gear: 56 mph
3rd gear: 78 mph
4th gear: 99 mph
5th gear: 122 mph
6th gear: 151 mph
70 mph = 3750 rpm

MY04-MY06 w/ 4.57-R gears
1st gear: 31 mph
2nd gear: 50 mph
3rd gear: 70 mph
4th gear: 89 mph
5th gear: 109 mph
6th gear: 135 mph

Hmmm 4200 is not so bad.. And ironically it would be quieter since it gets me out of the HKS-drone region.

The issue of higher rpm's w/ gears on the highway is highly exageraed. I ran 4.77's w/ a comptech setup and it was awesome. 1-2 was pretty hard but it pulled much harder at low and mid rpm's that a sc w/ stock gears.
