Hi new S2000 owner here. Purchased a near mint s2000 with a SOS stage 2 kit tuned with a flashpro. The supercharger has about 30000 miles on a 45000 mile car. Question is what kind of regular maintenance is involved? Im going to replace the belt soon and possibly the tensioner. How many miles can these go before a rebuild is recommended? Also at idle after the car warms up there is a metallic chatter from the supercharger I can hear from outside the car. However after watching youtube vids of Paxton, vortech, and other centrifugal superchargers it doesnt sound all too different so perhaps this is normal?

 

Oil change, belt and tensioner change. Or could have the unit rebuilt.

 

The Paxton blowers are very reliable. I think some people have put 100k miles before needing a rebuild. Replacing the belt is definitely normal maintenance that you'll get used too. The weird chatter at idle is completely normal. They all make really funky noises at idle.
