Default Supercharger + Open Header

i was told last night by someone very knowledgeable about tuning that i should just remove everything after the header and i'd make huge gains. if i didn't care about the noise, would it be a good idea to do this? would it drastically alter my AFRs and force me to get a retune?

thanks

Lets see, it'll be loud....it'll be loud enough to make you go deaf, it'll be loud enough to kill babies as you drive by, and it'll be loud enough to guarenteed to every noise violation ticket possible...I think I covered everything there

Also, chances are you will run lean so you would have to check your A/Fs. As for power, you'll gain top end but your definitely loose low end torque.

Assuming you won't be driving it on the street, there will be power to be gained if you run an open exhaust, but not "huge gains". The right way to do it would be to use a collector. About an 80mm collector that runs about 18" would probably give you top-end power but still keep some mid-range.

You'd definately be better off bolting a tp to your header if you want to run it open.

And yes you should retune for the lower backpressure.

There are several open-header S2000 vids on youtube. Of course they don't give you any idea how truly loud it is.

I ran my car open-header when I was installing my exhaust (hey, I just had to hear it )

This one at least gives a slight idea.
