ALL the pulleys must turn, including the tensioner pulley.
You have not indicated what yours does and where it's "burning".

Sounds like you have a seized bearing on the tensioner pulley. As X noted, it should be turning.

Careful of the "burning sensation"!

This is my friend's car and he is installing at my house...But I know more about Turbo then Superharger sooo I decided to ask here cause I get quicker responses then his own BMW Forums...Anyway the bult spins perfect and then the tensioner puller is soo tight in order to keep it aligned it doesn't spin so after we shut off the car and see some smoke a part of the belt is melted onto the tensioner pulley...But when we loosen that pulley it is not firm anymore and not aligned perfectly...What can we do?

the tensioner pull should still spin even if its very snug. proabably a bad bearing. If its really on THAT tight to keep the belt from slipping, you have some kinda alignment problems or maybe need a new belt (looks like you need a new belt anyways).

Looks the tensioner pulley is sitting right up against the sc? It doesn't seem aligned correctly...not enough clearance, therefore the pulley's not spinning.

Do you have the belt and/or tensioner on correctly? Is this a Comptech or Vortech? Somehow the installation looks a little off.

I figured out my friends problemt the pulley was bolted on backwards soo I guess it did not spin due to the rubbing against the metal superchager braket...BTW this is a BMW 328i supercharger made by ESS (Vortech)...We finsihed and the car runs PERFECT and sounds nice, but is very RICH...
