supercharger Smogging
Alright..I searched and searched but couldnt find out this stuff...phil helped me out once but I dont know specifically his set up (may be different than what im planning)
Im looking for 420+ at the wheels currently 365hp/10.8lbs 9200rpm. with a ctsc w/aftercooler and a full exhaust.
I dont want to set the revs any higher..well maybe 9300 but that would be it.
So Im going to do headwork (port polish larger valves etc)
70mm throttle body and matched intake.
if necessary 13lbs boost to reach the goal.
If I have to go to more than 10 lbs I assume I'll have to lower compression ratio via gaskets or sumthin...
So here are the questions...
1) Do I have to drop compression ratio to reach the 420rwh?
2) if I go to lower compression ratio what would i need to drop it to to run up to 13lbs on a stock bottom end?
3) Will I be able to get it to pass smog if I set everything back to stock (pulley, computer, injectors) except the headwork and the compression ratio. I don't want to replace the friggin head everytime I have to smog.
All you high boost experts thanks in advance for all your help.

you should do a 9 to 1 comp ratio. i dont know if u will pass smog test, but i do know that the Comp SC does pass it standard, and i dont think headwork hreally has anything to do with smog so you should be fine if you return to stock. Someone else should chime in to clarify this

Instead of upping the boost, maybe look into 4.57's? They may provide the increased excelleration your looking for.

just keep in mind that when you drop the compression to 8.8:1, you will be losing a lot of whp. I only got 355whp @ 11-12 psi with all the mods I have. (check my sig). i wouldn't want to risk my engine to get 20-25 whp though. Make sure you lower the compression. Other than that, you must get headwork done and you must get a smaller pulley to reach 420+
It sounds like you will be spending some serious $$$ why not switch to Turbo?

At some point I may throw in gears and turbo but Im still intrested in using my paxton system.
I appricate the coments about the turbo and going vortech but I do not have either and im not going to get them until I feel like I've topped out this system. So if there is anyone out there with expierence with supercharging and lowering compression ratio it would be very helpful.
