Supercharger with Vertical Intercooler
Wondering if anyone runs a custom intercooler wither behind the radiator or vertically since we have the space to prevent boost loss. I have read the FMIC lose around 3-4 psi which is outrageous in my opinion.
If you have any setup like this, please post pics.
Thanks,

Thanks,
Is there any way to minimize the loss in a FMIC?
Also, would there any big negative effects making a custom FMIC behind the radiator to minimize the piping? I know the cooling wouldn't be as much compared to the front of the car but the PSI loss can make up for it.
Im just looking for an alternative to an aftercooler since you dont see them selling much here seperately and new cost over 1k.

Makes sense.. So would it be beneficial just to get a custom intercooler with some smaller specs than the one used by some of the vendors here to get a psi loss of around 1-2. I have a local shop here that does mandrel bends so that should smoothen out the piping.

down flow has increased cross section area flow area and slightly more surface area.
However there is a point of diminishing returns.
If the surface area is to large and the wall friction increases and becomes a problem; then there will be a reduction in flow velocity leading to a larger pressure differential between inlet and outlet resulting in less mass flow to the motor and therefore less power.
Flow velocity is an aspect of forced induction ( and NA) that is over looked.
Larger piping/intercooler is not always better.
