Let me rephrase.

5-6 grand will not get you from stock to all said (or paid) and done with a turbo kit.

OG, whats your $$ total now?

What 1/4 miles times are you guys getting in your S/C s2000's with roughly 300whp?
1/4 mile times have alot to do with the driver's ability to make the car perform at its high. If you can manage a good 60ft, like a 1.6-1.8, you'll easily run high 12s with 300hp. I ran a 13.3 with a 2.2 60ft with 305hp on a stock comptech charger. If i would have cracked a 1.9 60ft it would have been 12s

edit: i was also trapping 106-115mph, which is high 12s mph

Is an s2000 w/ 300whp turbo gonna be faster than a 300whp S/C considering the fact that the superchager is driven by the belt and robs some power?

conceptually the turbocharged s2k would be faster than the supercharged s2k but not because the belt robs power. It's more due to the power delivery. The boost for the turbocharged s2k will kick in much sooner meaning that one will have a broader power curve (more area under the line) than the supercharged one. Superchargers on the s2k don't reach full boost until redline. Turbocharged s2ks reach full boost MUCH sooner than redline. The turbocharged car will be in boost putting down much higher power than the supercharged s2k until they reach redline, where they would both have 300 whp in this scenario.

That and the turbo s2k will probably produce more torque

My Inline Pro turbo setup is just as reliable as my old CTSC. I put down some nice numbers, and drive the thing almost everyday. It really just depends on the tuning(I actually feel safer now than with the old CT FMU). As with anything mechanical, if you abuse it...

doesn't you boost taper past about 8k?

i think that a gt35r is ideal for an s2k mainly becuase you're dealing with a huge rpm band. even with full boost coming on at past 4000 rpms you generally have about 4-5k rpms left and if you're racint you're keeping it up there anyhow.

the other reason is the gt35r is meant to flow mass on a 2 liter or similar car up to about 9k, that's basically perfect for the s2k.

on an evo it's different, rev limits are generally 7-8k depending on if you're road or drag racing. that means if boost comes on after 4k you only have 3-4k rpms to work with... that sucks. defnition of peaky. so with evos you see people begging the fast boost up bag more.

if you guys really want a fast boost up car then consider the 3076, also known as 52 trim 3052, 3037 (hks variant). as long as you're using a kit you can bolt up any t3 flanged garrett turbo. the 3076 is used by most evo track hounds as a favorite but it will never produce the high horsepower numbers required to take down say... a skyline on the roadcourse.

notice how that xsengineering skyline always beats the evos cuz it's running 600+ hp.
