Default Supercharger whine..

I'm looking to find somebody with a cockpit camera, or some type of audio clip of their SC whine from inside the car, or actually outside the car.
I ask because my buddy has an 04 cobra with a blower, and the whine is CRAAAZY loud.

I've seen video's of civics that had a sc, but I'm looking to see how much SC whine you get from an S2k.

Also what factors increase/decrease the whine from a blower?

there are a lot of videos of SC'ed S2000s on
http://videos.streetfire.net
i have seen in-car videos there too but never heard a whine. even Mini Cooper S has a louder SC whine. or maybe i didn't see a nice video before. anyways, i am curious about how it is too because i am looking to buy a SC kit myself.

The s2k uses a centrifugal supercharger and most other cars use a roots type blower that has a much more distinctive "whine"

if you want to hear a really loud SC.. check out bahnbrenner.com, and make your way to the video of the VW Corrado with the twinscrew lysholm charger. they also sell a silencing kit because the noise is so ridiculously loud and awesome

sorry, no help with the noise from a comptech or vortech.

As always Xviper comes to the rescue.
Actually I'm an idiot, forgetting that a centrifugal blower sounds like turbo under throttle.
Hrm, so going sc doesn't get the sc whine, but also doesn't get all of the turbo spool noises, hrm.

That little vid of mine only depicts the sound with with the hood open and near idle. When I drive up to meets, most bystanders remark how obvious the supercharger whine is as I approach. It is one of the best parts of having a blower.

Keep in mind that "turbo spool" happens at a significantly lower rpm on most engines and is dependent upon exhaust volume, which is dependent upon throttle opening. With the lowering rpm, a turbo is not being drowned out immediately by exhaust noise and other higher rpm noises. A supercharger will increase in whine as the rpm goes up, but this become a contest of noises and usually, other sounds win. Additionally, a turbo has more than one (set) of bearings - one for the driving turbine (exhaust side) and one for the driven side (compressor side). You get twice the noise not only in bearing noise but also in exhaust sound pushing through a bunch of vanes and intake air noise being drawn through a bunch of vanes.
