To save the hassle of finding the OEM plug for the VSS from a junkyard or something, I've found the plug and wires here. They sell the wires individually, so you will need to order 3. Make sure you get them with the large seal.

VSS 3 Pin Plug:

You will also need the 090 II style terminals with large wire seals found here:

I'm also wondering if it would be possible to maybe use the Modifry Yellow Jacket Speedometer Calibrator. I'm wondering if the issue isn't necessarily the difference between the supplied power to the sensor, but rather the pulses given off by the VSS. Or if voltage does need to be regulated, if you might be able to use some sort of potentiometer.
I'm definitely not a sparky, and I might just be talking out of my ass, but as soon as I get all the stuff installed and a solution hasn't been found, I'll definitely be working on it with a co-worker who is. lol

Get an actual speedohealer. -99% to +9999% correction and 3-19V working range. The Modifry box will only reduce pulses, if you need more pulses you'll be out of luck.

Any particular model? Or are the different models same thing just different connectors for plug and play?

EDIT: nevermind, I'm on my phone and just found the universal harness option.

You just want the generic one. The PnP pigtails are just for the most common uses. As you can tell they're mostly used on bikes.
