and as spectacle mentioned, what about electronics such as with the speedo for drive-by wire with flashpro like mine?
whats the issues you see that can happen? anyone?

From dealing with similar issues changing my gears (the PPG gears have a very different pulse per rev count than stock so I'm assuming these problems would be the same)

The cluster uses the VSS for speedo (duh) but it also for EPS, soft top failsafe, intermittent wipers and probably VSA in your case. Whether any of this matters is going to come down to how different the pulse count is from stock.

I'll be able to fix the issue in my case when the next kmanager is released because Kpro has speedo correction built in, just not enough correction for my setup. I couldn't find an equivalent in the Flashpro software, but I just looked at Flashpro software for the first time, so correct me if I missed it. You can use a speedohealer, which is what I did in the mean time, but gear calculation may be incorrect if you need it for boost by gear.

Edit: Ok, found speedo correction in Flashpro. You still may want a speedohealer depending how much correction you need because the cluster is not fed from the ECU. The signal is split first and sent independently to the ECU and the cluster.

Yes you will need to convert to 12v and use a speedohealer. I dont know how close you can get it because we have not tried it yet. I dont think the S2K cluster gets it's signal from the ecu, I could be wrong though. I believe the dash gets the signal direct from the sensor but again I could be wrong since we have not gotten a chance to mess around with it much. I know there's a solution for sure, I just haven't gotten the opportunity to get to it yet.

Cluster definitely doesn't get its VSS signal from the ECU on an '04. But check it's not different for some reason on a DBW car.

I will definitely report my experiences when the time comes for my conversion. I would like to hear others' experience with this as well once the time comes

what about an 08?
Looking in the helm it looks to me like it still splits first, but I don't want to say y/n based on my half-assed knowledge
