Default synthetic oil

i just went FI, on my first oil change and stayed with regular oil. it's almost time to change my oil again for the second time. my question is do any of you recommend me moving over to synthetic right away since i am now FI?, or stay with regular oil )mobil clean 5000 is what i am currently using) until say 15,000 or so thousand miles? i went FI with 4300 miles. thanks!

If you had an AP1, this would be a bit more complicated. We all know that AP1s have a tendency to consume oil till they reach about 10K miles and it is this reason that it is recommended to stay off synthetic so as to give the rings a better chance to seat in those FRM liners. However, adding a supercharger changes things. For an AP1, I would say you should go synthetic due to the requirements of the supercharger (as per the instructions in the kit) regardless of the mileage.

However, since you have an AP2, where oil consumption from new seems to have been addressed by Honda and is not an issue and since you've got a supercharger, for sure I would say that the S/C instructions would take precedence and you should be on synthetic from the day the supercharger went on. Mileage and the newness of the engine should not overshadow the requirements of the supercharger. This choice is no longer "complicated".

Unless you track your car or drive the crap out of it all the time, there's no panic. Synthetic's flow characteristics and slightly higher vapourization temps are more advantageous for keeping the supercharger healthy. Afterall, it spins really fast.

This is a personal choice. I'm sure it's "better" but I don't think you really need better. You're fine with either.
