Default Oil change interval

Having searched a lot of threads, Honda seems to recommend not switching to synthetic oil until around 10k miles, but this appears to be for model years 00/01.

I have an 06, just coming up to 6k miles, oil was changed around 3k (severe conditions recommendation) and was curious if I should stick with dino oil until the next oil change before going with synthetic, or am I ok to go with synthetic now?

Hate to bring up long debated topics, but from the threads I went through, there seems to be no definitive answer for later (AP2) cars...

I've used synthetic before, but it liked it too much so i switch back to conventional oil. cut oil burn in half. but it ran stronger on synthetic.
