Default T56 swap!

I was just reading in the forum about the th400 kit for the s2000, well what about the guys who want to stay 6 speed? I have a ilp stroker turbo motor, and I've been threw 2 transmissions, 3 rears, ( I recently brought 8.8 so that's covered) I understand the v160 is a great transmission to swap but not everyone has 10k to put into a trans. Last mounth I was having serious thought of selling my s for a rx7, just brcause i was tired of being paraniod of my car breaking, after doing my research they have the same driveline problems as us! But one of there solutions is the t56 they are high revving motors just like our cars, are there any s2000's with a t56 swap? Or would any shops that would like to step up for the project, I'm more than sure people would buy it vs the v160's its just rediculously exspensive! Thanks

I think the biggest issue with the T-56/TR-6060 is that for the most part paired with lower revving motors (certainly not AP1 levels). From what I've read there are a lot of people with issues with high rpm shifts. One of the ways around that is face-plating, but then you don't have a very smooth shift (again, from what I've read/seen). You say ILP stroker so I presume a lower redline, but what do you do about installing? There's a fair about of custom fab work involved for it to mount; adapter plate, possibly the bell housing, trans mounts, etc. Sure the V160 is expensive, but it SEEMS like going with a t-56 you're spending the money you saved back into associated costs. However, I'm fully open to being enlightened so if someone knows different, please chime in.

I have a t56 but I also have a v8.... it fits ... no problem.... just need a sledge hammer ......

and you can even use the stock mount bracket for this hahaha

for a f20/ t56 I'd imagine an adapter plate, and all other stuff needed and it should work, just get one from a camaro with the short shifter plate on it.

Ive been wondering if/when a thread on the T-56 would pop up. Seems like a much cheaper swap if it can be done with a kit like Fullblown has done with the V160

I don't think installation will be that big of a deal, like s2kt3 said just use a sludge hammer, people at car shows can't see your transmission tunnel, and it's impossible for the t56 to be the same price as v160 it wouldn't even be close if you do a simple kit like there was for the v160 it will not too bad on cost and I assure you there will be more sales
