So, I will be taking my first hit off the boost crack pipe this week courtesy of Portland Speed Industries. They will be bolting on GReddy's AP2 kit onto my 06 DBW with Hondata providing the brains. Electing to upgrade to the ACT clutch at the same time, but still running the stock exhaust. Pics and results forthcoming
Congrats! Dyno results please.

crazysupratt, would you suggest just the BOV or a boost controller or both? And why? I was leaning toward adding a boost controller to mine first.

i would suggest a BOV before the boost controller.

Yes boost controller is nice to keep the boost consistent. You will get a little boost creep depending on your exhaust/downpipe. You can always limit it by staying stock exhaust restricting its flow.

Just invest in a BOV its going to prevent you from compressor surge which can destroy your turbo.

I know they'll be putting in the controller, but the Greddy gang insists the (relatively) low pressure makes a BOV optional. And nobody at the instal shop suggested any different. I'll ask in person when they begin tomorrow just to be sure.

advise has been given so its in your court now. Not to scare you or anything but my buddy and mech think the same until we ran the car and hear the compressor surge really bad even at 8-10 psi. After only a few weeks, the turbo went downhill and need it to be rebuilt.

If you read the greddy thread, they clearance the turbo turbine really close to the housing. Greddy even say it slightly touches the housing
i thought the same as everyone else but if you think about it, where does the waste pressure goes?

i'm really looking forward to your build with the greddy kit and flashpro...

are you guys going to use the standard calibration that comes with flashpro for 550 injectors? please keep us updated on the tuning with flashpro with the greddy kit

awesome that the shop is blogging your car on their site with videos

its nice to see a shop do a baseline run before installing the kit...thats a pretty strong number for stock? is it completely stock or with mods? I see you have some kind of intake?

Lol, my "intake" is to take the airbox lid off and stick on a higher-flow filter. Love the sound - like a poor man's exhaust upgrade I have no idea if that's a good number for a baseline. If the specs are for 237 horses at the crank, then I think 218 at the wheels sounds pretty good. There is a M5 on the same blog that is rated for 500 hp that puts down "only" 405 hp at the wheels
