Default are there other ways to break in a turbo?

Sorry for being the the guy here playing 20 questions, but I'm trying to plan ahead.

I'm going to go with the LoveFab kit, but I already have the EMS and bigger injectors.

I've got a Comptech SC now, with more boost. My map is currently for running 9lbs of boost on a supercharger. I'm going to try and fly Sean out from Torquefreaks again to tune my car when it's ready (couple months down the road).

My dillema is, how do I break the turbo in for it to be prepared for the tuning? Am I going to have to get him to tune it enough to then go break it in...and then tune it again for power? If there's one thing I'll never do, it's touch the maps on my car. I know nothing about tuning. None of the shops around here are experienced with tuning an AEM EMS either. I can't just slap the turbo on there now because I'm sure the timing and everything else will still have to be readjusted for the new turbo. I'm hoping there's a much easier idea that I'm not thinking of.

The kit comes with a basemap to get you to the tuner, but I'm running different size injectors than the ones that come with the kit. I wouldn't feel comfortable driving very long on that map anyway.

Any ideas? Or am I just going to have to get Sean to tune it as I break the turbo in?

Thanks again guys, you've been more help than you can ever imagine!

you don't really "break in" a turbine to my knowledge... once exhaust is flowing, it's spinning.

If the engine is allready running on the SC and you are not replacing it, there is nothing to break in. If you are replacing the engine, I would reccomend breaking it in just like the car was new. Then install the turbo and have it tuned.

the turbo doesn't need to be broken in. just make sure get some oil flowing to the center cartridge before you actually start the car for the first time.

wow, even better. I just know three of my best friends had always made it a big issue to "break their turbos in" before they tuned their cars for a lot of power. I figured that was going to be a major pain in the arse to have to put so many miles on it before adding another pound of boost, then putting more miles and adding another pound...etc...
I think one guy had blown his turbo early, and they probably thought it was for that reason...so they all started doing it.

I'm definitely glad I asked now!

Thanks!
