Thought / question about AEM EMS
you can use the vtec pressure switch to tell when vtec has been pressureized.
i think its switch 4 .. i dont remember exactly but its in the instructions.
you can tell ls10 (cel) to come on when switch 4 or whatever switch turns on.
if you really want you can also use this to trigger nitrous maps and have a separate map for vtec.

Is it in the "configure > outputs" menu? I was looking around, you can also make it so vtec must also be "engaged" for LS10 to ground (turn on). If you did this, I think, that means both the vtec pressure sensor and throttle position / whatever else the EMS looks at must be active for the CEL to turn on to indicated vtec is engaged. Corret me if I'm wrong?
the vtec pressure switch turns on when the vtec system see's oil pressure.
the vtec pressure switch can not be turned on until after vtec is activated. It takes bout 25-50 rpms for this to happen.. you can actually log it.
you will set this up in configure outputs menu.
goto LS10 in that menu
set the basic activation parameters to greater than the minimum for the setings.
under switched output configure, check active.. then set that to switch #4 gnd=on ( i think its gnd=on, if the cel is on when vtec is not on, then set that to gnd=off)
make sure the functions box is un-checked
