I'm curious now....
For the people that have had this failure. Did you have a fully built motor or was it on a stock motor just adding the turbo setup and different clutch setup?

It has happened to completely stock cars .
A poll is not going to answer all the questions that are relevant, I didnt consider it because of that.

I dont believe I've seen any first hand examples, there was one thread however there was later speculation that the motor had been swapped/rebuilt in that car. That was kind of the point of this thread to remove the he said/she said stuff from the other threads.

! That particular car got a new engine from the owner running the car out of oil . When i was swapping out the shortblock i tried to get the owner to purchase a new clutch while everything was apart but he said no . The car was pefect with the new engine when it left the dealership . A few weeks go by and the car returns . The owner was stating that the clutch felt weird and it was hard to put into gear . I verified and then discovered that there was crankwalk . I was TOTALLY shocked ! After seeing this with my own 2 eyes makes me know that the clutch is not the single reason as to why this is happening . I would have never believed it if i didnt see it . So when i see these accusations on this site i just laugh ! I think that there is something going on at the assembly plant but thats pure speculation !
We see thrust bearing failures on K20 engines with aftermarket clutches if the clutch interlock is not disabled. Even stock clutches give the thrust bearing trouble. Think about it. The flywheel loading is 800-1200 lbs, and you're turning the engine over when it has zero oil pressure.
