No. The chain isn't really stretching that much. The roller wear is called stretch just because it's how it's always been done. Either way, the stretch isn't a good thing.

i have seen several sludged up k20's and k24's come in with vtc codes and severely stretched chains.

The f20/f22 chain setup is a bit different but chain stretch will throw off cam timing.

I think with anything higher mileage i would replace it as it's only 70$ do you want to blow you newly rebuilt motor cause you saved $70? I am gunna put a new one on.....

Can a messed up TCT cause higher oil consumption? Mine rattles when I start the car, so I'm going to replace it.
