Default Tranny issue

I posted this in the under the hood section, but i figured since i post in here most of the time and i have a turbo it would be best to post in here. thanks

i was having problems with the tranny for about a week. i thought it was my clutch because since i put the clutch in it shifted funny. (clutch was ACT.) I have a turbo and drag my car. I was at the track and coming back on one pass i had smoke coming through the floor board and i didnt know what was wrong. I got back to the trailer and it looked as if it were coming from the clutch. I let it cool down for an hour and it drove good again. i came home and drove it to work and when i went to get in it, i couldnt even change the gears. I can change them a little now if i fight with it, but its still sucks. it will change fine with the car off but it is crappy with the car on. i am in the process of changing my clutch. (competition Stage 4 clutch). I pulled the tranny out last night and noticed the wires that connected to the plug that goes into the tranny were burnt. would this be causing my shifting issues. Is it the actual tranny? or will this clutch help? i also bought new tranny fluid to change it and hope it helps

check tranny fluid out well for one when you drain it. That'll be the best indicator.

Go from there. make sure u put the new honda stuff not the old stuff.

if the motor is off, can you switch gears? If its on, does changing the gears get really hard? If you can change the gears easily with the car off, you have an issue with your clutch, or its adjustment... go from there...

check your clutch fluid level as well. Check the adjustment on the clutch pedal, check the clutch slave where it attaches to the tranny. Check for leaks by the slave cylinder. Check the clutch fork and the ball that attaches from the slave to the fork...

btw, you only need 2 quarts of tranny fluid

yes. it shifts fine with car off, its very difficult to shift with car on. I bought a new slave cyclinder. that did not help. I have bled the system, no help. This is kind of "ghetto" but i even tried to put some washers behind the "finger" on the slave cylinder to help it push the fork, that didnt work. That is why i am changing the clutch. Im just making sure and hoping its not the tranny.

One other thing i forgot to mention. the plug that plugs into the transmission runs accross the tranny. It has been burt bad. I didnt even know the tranny got that hot. what does that plug do? is just a sensor? it looks like a sensor

did you adjust your clutch at the pedal?

it is your clutch, not your tranny if it works fine when the car isnt on.

dont just buy stuff, look for signs of leaks. That would explain a bad clutch slave etc..

but it sounds like the clutch isnt disengaging correctly. Did you buy a new throw-out bearing whne you changed the clutch? Grease the splines?

Man at this rate of buying replacement parts to solve the problem you might as well buy a new car.

Hope you figure it out.
