i though he was talking about shock from like grabbing second gear. it seems alot of people that have hp loose their second gear first.

I was just thinking, as long as i dont run slicks shouldn't it hold up pretty good? I would think I would just smoke the tires off of it before it grabs so well that it messes up the trans or rear end

honestly, dont think about it too much. used ap2 and ap1 trannys are 600-1200 bucks and sometimes even low low mileage. used stock rear is like 400-700 again low mileage. built rear can run 1k-3k. built tranny, well yeah PPG 10k

shy away from launching, and dont WOT shift. at least that will give you the best chance for longevity.

PPG reduction gear in stock tranny or PPG BUILT TRANNY. crazy that at 400+tq you start shearing teeth off second gear.

does anyone make a gear set for the car? my buddy had a vr6 and he did a quiafe gear set for 1-4 gears, and kept stock 5th. we would need 1-5, and keep stock 6th.

if you really want something mean for the strip, TH400 and a really high stall TQ converter

My old setup was a 35r setup, making 550whp, ~380wtrq, and I never had any tranny related issues.

It'll be pretty hard to get to those numbers without it.
