Default Transmission Upgrade...?

Im looking for any viable upgrades to my AP1 tranny. My problems are with the syncro's not the gears. Im breaking syncro's like toothpicks....

I read somewhere that the '04 syncro's are carbon coated and should be stronger, but you cant just use the syncro's you have to change the whole tranny. Is this true, and if so is it just a basic swap out? Or are there other mods that have to be done?

I also read about Pfitzner Performance Gearbox's. They have dogbox and hybrid dogbox trannies. Anyone have any info on them?

Id appreciate any help you bros can provide....thxs!!

I'm just curious as to why you are breaking syncro's with 434 whp. You're only 35 above me and I have yet to break a thing.

Are you launching the car a lot and slam shifting it?

I thought the stock tranny was good to around 550 whp.

PPG stuff is definately good quality. They definately take an abuse.

If you want to go PPG, shoot me a PM

Double clutch? I'm semi-serious actually. I found it odd at first, but like heel-toe down shifts w/ a little practice it becomes second nature. Will help out with your synchro's life.

Best part? Its FREE!
