Have you considered D3 in houston?
I am getting tuned there next week so i can give some feedback afterwards.

JMS was also put off of my options list for the exact same reasons.
Glad to know that I'm not alone in having reservations for JMS..

D3's website looks really nice, and it looks like they do some great fab work. If you're willing to share, what's the estimated price of getting your car tuned there?
The prices should be on the website.. im doing a flex-fuel tune with AEM series 2. My price will be based on the initial pump gas tune, then additional price per hour for the e85 tune. The Guess-tamated price of around $700 (high end).

I have had some minor fab work done by D3. So far their customer service is great. The shop is one of the cleanest. There seems to be "law and order" around there, i.e... no random people in and out of the shop.

Here is a Thread i started not to long ago that may be helpfull for you. Please leave your experience here once you get tuned!

So how does an etune work on a newly boosted car with no prior tune anyway?

Basically you provide the most detailed list of your car you can, including ALL of your mods, and they provide you with a baseline tune which is then corrected/modified over a few days of you driving and testing the car while keeping track of data logs which you send back to Evans.

Since they can't see or dyno the car themselves, they ALWAYS air on the safe side of a tune. You'll never see as much power out of an e-tune as you would on an actual dyno, but from what I hear most people still end with a pretty reliable tune.

Don't mean to thread jack but... Seth at Cartune performance sent me a base map to drive my car to his shop for the tune. He recommended that I get it towed there, which I might do cause the base map he sent me was from a turbo AP1 and mine is a supercharged ap2. Same injectors though, don't know any other info about the other car. Do you guys think it'll be okay to use it just for an easy drive? Its about 45 minutes away...

And Chance, if I get my car tuned before you do, i'll let you know how it went with Seth and maybe you can give him a call if you rule out any of the other choices. Just a possibility, not bad to keep open options

Coming from someone else that tunes I would not hesitate to choose D3. Their tuner is a very knowledgeable guy with experience on many different platforms.

Thanks guys.

I've narrowed it down to either Stout or D3. I just emailed D3 to get a price estimate on the tuning

Once again, thanks everyone for the helpful responses. I really appreciate everyone's input I get on these forums, it really helps me since this is my first build.

Sent them an email asking for a price estimate and didn't get a response, but I also know they were out for some races and Florida and weren't planning on being back until tomorrow so it's definitely possible they're back-logged.

I'll try calling them Thursday-ish if I still haven't heard anything by then
