I've noticed this before when I start putting around in the car in the mornings or after a cold start, but not as loud as it was this morning (colder air, very high fog/humidity this morning).

After driving the car for a mile or two the noise goes away. Is this noise a problem? I'm mostly just wondering if it could be an issue with the oil supply not providing enough lubrication.

Could be TCT

 

The noise is definitely coming from the turbo, and if it was the TCT I don't think the noise would subside as the car runs/warms up.

Even on warm starts the turbo still chatters a bit for a few miles... really not liking this but unsure what's going on.

I still thought that a TCT ticking noise was supposed to get worse as a car warmed up though, not better? Possibly in need of a valve adjustment (or one sticking/not seating)?

 

I had the same problem, went away when it warmed up but not quite as loud as yours. They tend to go quick on FI, I'd pull it and check it out.

 

You can use a stethoscope to listen where the noise is coming from. The valvetrain, tct and turbo noises come from 3 complete different directions, so I think this should do the trick.
