Mine was doing the same yesterday it was hot here.

In your case I can almost gaurnetee your problem is the lack of an under tray and the upper factory baffle.

I never had the problem until I put on the Mishimoto radiator shroud then the temps started soaring. Cruising on the highway with 75F ambient the temps are running 205-215. During the day at closer to 90F I saw 235F and stoped the car and let it sit with the fans on. I know the the problem is the AEM b/c I have been using it for some time and not had this issues. When I start the car it quickly warms to 190F then slow creaps to 210-220-230... until I have to shut it down. The Fans are coming on at 210F with the factory switch and I setup a lower range yesterday. I think the problem is the fan shroud that came with the Misimoto fans restristing the air flow throught the entire radiator.

Oh and I am bled the system 2 times, there is PLENTY of heat in the car so I am pointing my finger at the radiator shroud.

What is the factory fan switch trigger temperature again?

I was told 200 degrees, but when I burped the coolant, the fan would only kick on over 205 degrees.

I looked at my cal file and my coolant temp sensor have the corrected values that are in this thread.

I'm not too sure why youre having issues with your Mishimoto fan shroud. Maybe its the Mishimoto radiator not cooling as well as the Koyo? I was street/highway tuning on my car a few weeks ago in 97 deg heat and 90% humidity and my temps stayed solid at 185-205 the whole 2 hours we tuned until the trans broke on 700 whp. I have the Koyo radiator, Mishimoto fan shroud and fans.

im having the exact same temp. issues. when driving my car seemed to stay over 205-210 yesterday. (this is reading off of the uego gauge) and when sitting at redlights it got up to maybe 220. i hate seeing the temps this high. but my whole cooling system is stock. its on my next mod list.
just a thought, has anyone actually seen REAL temp difference when adding a vented hood to their car? i did see an article about shimmed hoods making a significant difference in engine temps on a miata. just wondering

I'm gonna go out and buy a bottle of Water Wetter and add that to my 50/50 mix of coolant.

I'll drive it more this week and report back if it helped. I'm probably gonna buy a better radiator, but for now, see if this works.

Be careful with water wetter. I hear it works best with DI water. If the mix is slightly over 50/50 I hear it turns the coolant to snot..

I wonder if I should drain out some coolant to make it more like a 40/60 mix of coolant to water ratio, then add water and water wetter. Probably work better. Then burp it again.

From reading the bottle, it looks like it helps most with straight water and water wetter. It can get pretty cold here during the winter. Like -15 Fahrenheit so I need some coolant in there.

[QUOTE=D1sclaimer,Jul 11 2010, 02:24 AM] After doing some research, it looks like I can setup when the fan comes on through options -> configure outputs and then have the radiator fan (LS8 output) come on when the following conditions I choose are met: temp, load, TPS percent, speed, and rpm.

Does the EMS not come configured for this because I can't find where the default values are?

I was running the shroud only as it fits on the stock radiator. This morning I took it off and ran with the stock fans and the temps stayed right around 190F. Problem solved.
