im having the exact same temp. issues. when driving my car seemed to stay over 205-210 yesterday. (this is reading off of the uego gauge) and when sitting at redlights it got up to maybe 220. i hate seeing the temps this high. but my whole cooling system is stock. its on my next mod list.
just a thought, has anyone actually seen REAL temp difference when adding a vented hood to their car? i did see an article about shimmed hoods making a significant difference in engine temps on a miata. just wondering

I was running the shroud only as it fits on the stock radiator. This morning I took it off and ran with the stock fans and the temps stayed right around 190F. Problem solved.
