Turbo Done Right
I had bad headaches at the start as well.
DUE TO BAD TUNNER!
You need to find a decent tuner, and plan your build very well before the installation process begins. Its not just the turbo kit you need to worry about, there are other things; rear end, axles, fluids, temps, boost leaks, parts wearing out, etc.
If you get all the supporting mods and install them along with the install of the turbo you will have a better piece of mind. + go full standalone if your smog laws permit

Kev, call me and ill help with the install.
Local IE always helps.
I almost have the kit finished now, but I still need to do some little things like finish the vacuum hoses, mount the AEM boost solenoid, soldering on my D plug and a few other things like having the downpipe/exhaust re fabricated. I do have a temporary deal right now for the exhaust though.
This Inline kit had been a bit of a nightmare and I have been working on it every day since Saturday.
The downpipe is a POS in my opinion and was very poorly thought out. It needs major modification to fit to an exhaust and my damn O2 sensor is crammed against the transmission so i'm sure i'll need a new one sooner than later. The intercooler pipes fit like shyt, they hit the ballasts for the headlights, the cutout in the fender and the drivers side smashes against the radiator hose. I worked on those things for hours to get everything so that I wouldnt rub a hole through the pipes in a month.
I'll post pics when I can of where I'm at.
Honestly if I was to do it all over again though I would sell my AP1 and get and AP2 and then just throw a SOS or vortech supercharger on it and call it a day at 400 plus HP. After all the turbo problems and major hassles it just isn't worth it to me IMO.
as others have mentioned if you are ok with popping the hood almost everytime you take the car out then fine, but otherise not sure it makes so much sense as a dd. I once thought it would be fine until a few months after making the move. which btw I did the right way and in total spend about 15k. Anyhow I ended up getting a 2010 wrx as a dd. All in all this ended up costing me a LOT of money. I don't have any regrets though. Before this whole fiasco I was going to get a 996 TT and man and I a lot happier with this move.
u know, i am sc, and i still worry about stuff going wrong. ehh, your changing a NA high compression car to FI. of course things can go wrong. it wasnt designed for this.
having said this, just dont go into a FI setup expecting 100% driveability/reliability like stock. its gonna have quirks. just accept it and move on. i dont pop my hood for shit. i start the car, monitor water temp, AF. if either one is outa wack, i troubleshoot. if car makes funny noises, i investigate. otherwise, **** IT, drive it like you stole it. cuase thats why you built it in the first place! mine has a very hard 40k miles on it. VERY HARD. starts and runs like a flippin champ.

Honestly if I had to do it all over again I would just go back to a supercharger. (And I have had one supercharger and two turbo kits now on my car)
I am about complete with my inline pro turbo install and I am honestly ready to sell the car after the whole fiasco.
The honest story with turbo kits seem to be "if its not one thing its another thing".

I am supercharged and, unlike Camuman, I don't worry. But, my car's not a daily driver. Even so, I have never had any problems. I run a good amount of boost through the stock motor, bigger injectors, EMS, and I have learned to tune using some great resources out there (another headache saver). I haven't had so much as a boost leak to worry about.
The thing is, I know turbos are faster and more efficient. But I feel like I get 80/85% of the performance with zero headaches. My car is tracked, driven during summer, whatever...I don't really worry.
That being said, a ride in a turbo S2000 track car done right would probably change my mind. lol
man horror stories O_O
I sold my ctsc because of the headaches i was having with it as well (running ultimate) and got a ems+Cash in return.
The dilemma is that i sold the sc saying NO MORE FI and now with the ems in my hands its tempting again >
. I'm local to Ultimate-Racing in Markham, and once a year they have a sale on their log kit /w 60-1 which is pretty much bolton for about 3k flat. I was thinking about just staying NA for one more season while finishing my J's body kit (costs ALOT), and wait for that sale again next Xmas. Iono I'm not sure if ill be happy in the end... sorry to say but sometimes I say **** it and get an e46.. that is why Im going j's so i dont get bored of the car
btw when i say bored is because I'm 20 and I've had 2 rsx type-s, a type-r, winter civic turbo, and this is my 2nd S2K. On the other hand, sticking to honda is sticking to what I know, and is not a bank breaker!
see where I'm coming from?
thanks for the replies guy, anymore thoughts?
