Default turbo install/ vtec sensor removal?

i am getting ready to do the final assembly of my turbo build and came across some of you gents saying that if you run an AEM, you dont need the big sensor that sticks out of the vtec sol.

is this true? if so, what did you end up pluggin it with? and would it be alright for me to ride on my stock ecu to my tuner with it plugged before we plug in the aem and chase some numbers?

thanks for your insight!

True.

Once you have an EMS running, the vtec sensor is no longer required. You can just plug it with the right size bolt from any hardware store. There is actually a DIY that somebody did if you do a search.

And yes. It should be safe to run on the stock ecu to the tuner as long as you don't drive stupid and its not too far.

If you want to plug it just get a M10 x 1.25 shoulder bolt and cut off the end of the bolt so it is 1/2" long. Don't forget to pull the oring off the sensor or it will not seal.

i just did this this morning. ended up using two washers because the single washer started to "crush in" more that it should. slapped two on there, and it sealed up perfectly. shouldnt have any problems with it on stock ecu till i get to the dyno since the max rpm i will see on the trip is about 4200 or so.

thank you guys, this has freed up some much needed space for the ol' T67.
