Default Which turbo kit for only 7-8 psi

Hello guys,

I need some advice, I would like to install a turbo and boost around 7-8 psi at most. I prefer to have almost full boost at low RPM. And, not loose it at high RPM.
Also, which kit can fit in front of the engine, and not on a side?
I would also prefer a kit that doesn't need to change the place of the oil filter.

I have an AP1.

appreciate it.

I would recommend a Pfab stage 1 with gt3071R

or if you want the turbo in front of the valve cover... get a FBM kit with the same turbo mentioned above.

should hit full boost around 3500-3800 rpm

or get a used greddy kit.. for auto X, it will be a blast! there are some REALLY cheap kits in the for sale section.. you would hit around 280whp which is absolutely fun to drive and GREAT response.

I sold my greddy kit after 1,5 years of owning and got hungry for more power...

that's what I had in mind, what's the difference between GT30R71 and R76?
I thought I can get around 320 whp easy though!!!

I'll check the for sale section now .. thank you big

The gt3071r has a smaller turbine wheel than the gt3076r resulting in faster spool/response than the gt3071r

You would hit AT LEAST 320whp. And break 400 easily with more boost later on...

Fbm stage 1 with a smallish turbo. Gtx30 or 5858 or gt30.

Not all GT3071R's have a smaller turbine wheel than the GT3076R, but all do have a smaller compressor wheel. IMO, the best GT3071R is the one with the larger turbine wheel.

The GT3071R or GTX3071R would work well for your goals. At 7-8 psi, you probably wouldn't see the benefit of the GTX though.

For a front mount kit, consider the T3 Full Race EFR kit.

The EFR6758 would probably be the turbo you want based on the criteria you have put forward. The EFR7064 would also work. It would spool later and make more power.

Just curious, but why spend all that time and money for only 7-8 psi when the stock engine can handle 15-16 psi on pump gas?

OP, Why are you measuring what kit you want by psi? You should determine what kit you want by whp and situational usage.

Might be true, but I want the minimum load on the engine. I feel it's more reliable, correct me if I'm wrong.

And for my pleasure of driving, I assume 300-350 whp is more than what I need. Also I want a turbo that spools fast and responsive.
I don't care what kit or PSI. 7-8 is what I thought appropriate. I'm open for suggestions too.

my goal is:
- fun of driving (not drag racing)
- affect reliability the least possible
- spool fast, responsive, i.e get most of the boost as early as possible and not loose it on high end
- I prefer a kit with easy installation, I felt like a kit in front of the engine might be much suitable, even if it's a bit more expensive.
