Well unless you talked with Full-Race you won't know but they are working hard starting around this week on a more consumer friendly manifold. Give them a call and find out when they think one will be ready. Most of their manifolds are around the $1300 mark. The whole idea is to get rid of some of the hastles there was with the original manifold. I have seen awesome numbers from their manifolds on B16 and b18 manifolds where similar company designs just puked because they don't take the time to perfect something before giving it to the public, hence why you don't see there stuff sold without them installing it (with about 2-4 exceptions only on the s2000 that I know of). I would assume when my car is done they should have something worked out for a consumer sold kit and manifold. Believe me I can't wait to get the car back from them. There service has been A+++. Hopefully Geoff will chime in to give some insight.

curious to see how much performance suffers to make a mass production worthy piece... many have proclaimed their mani as god (figuratively speaking of course), I'm wondering if this new piece could change the tides... they will be held to the limitations of other manufacturers...

I know you have one, and I know they sold maybe 2 others to people for personal installation, but from my understanding, they are no longer doing this because of complications during the install... I seem to remember Geoff saying something to this extent...
I haven't talked with them in a while, but they are still listing the S2000 turbo manifold on their web page for $1299.

I know exactly what you guys are speaking of in reguards to install woes.
The problem basically comes down to turbo choice.
4 bolt t3
5 bolt t3
Vband T4 ALL place the compressor housing differently from one-another. I believe FR uses mostly 4 bolt T3 housings, which are offset from "center" of the turbo flange the most.
If they designed the manifold to fit this turbo and someone tries to bolt up another turbo, its going to crash into the block VERY hard(which is what has happened to quite a few people).
So its not FR's fault; this is why they are adament about doing the install themselves, or selling THEIR turbos, etc, with their manifold. We do the exact same thing, for the exact same reason (but our manifold fits all of these turbos just fine if you build your own downpipes)

I just want to know what kind of gains you see when using a tubular equal length manifold (such as the ful race) versus the others. Anybody have any #'s?

There are quite a few threads on that exact topic on honda-tech.com (3 that I know of).

I don't remember the other, but it was a test that Full Race did themselves and video'd.

If you want to keep some of your current stuff, A-Spec, http://www.a-spectuning.com , may be able to make a custom version of their manifold that is suitable for a 38mm wastegate.

Spark Racing still has a few nice manifold/downpipe combos left too. Some of them were designed for a 38mm wastegate like yours.

Both Spark Racing and A-Spec would place the turbo roughly where the UR kit has it right now.

Mine's a custom manifold that is similar to the top mount one CJB80 made. I just upgraded from a log manifold that was virtually identical to the UR one myself.
