Default Turbo Oil Return Line Tap Location (Post yours)

I have a 5758 ball bearing with a MASE kit and I have read many many posts about people burning oil on acceleration and/or deceleration. The common fix is to use a .03" oil feed line restrictor in addition to the factory .035" inside the cartridge due to the high oil pressure on the S2000. After speaking with a PTE rep today, the 5758 has a 25mm oil return opening. The MASE kit shipped with a -10an line and the cartridge flange it was shipped with had a 13mm opening. This creates a similar condition to crank pressure or oil backup into the line which causes those little puffs of smoke.

I am going with a -12 line and fitting to go with the larger flange you can order direct from PTE. The question is now that I am faced with putting a larger fitting on the motor for return, what is the best location?

I have read some guys swear by the girdle and others say pan is fine. For those of us who do not have the engine out of the car, the girdle seems impossible. Additionally, some people choose the timing cover, but I have seen some diagrams showing that is where the F20 primarily pushing crank pressure up through so it seems like that would not be a good place. I want to open the discussion to opinions and facts about good locations as well people to post theirs.

I'm using a -10AN on the timing cover; no issues thus far (smoking or otherwise)

The girdle is where I placed the oil return, as it's impossible to use the timing cover for return with the FullRace Prostreet (ramhorn) manifold. It's possible to drill the girdle with the engine in the car. You just have to use a drill similar to this:

I'm running a -10 fitting as high as I could get it in the pan. Similar to the OP. I've never had any issues with my pfab top mount log or my current sidewinder.

Timing cover, girdle or top of the pan by the AC compressor. Pick one and use it. I myself am using the timing cover and have had zero issues in the last 10k with my JB 6262.
