thats what i was thinking to, i think are plan is to make a carb legal kit and still have use of the a/c and everthing else. if you guys think it will get alot of market then i'll try to convince them as much as possible, if the market goes the way they planned it could mean more parts for the s2k

You know, another option is something like a Twin Screw Supercharger kit. It's something the BMW guys know all about. It will give us more low end grunt, keep the top end gains just as strong. I think I like this option almost more than a turbo option because there's typically less trouble shooting to do in an SC system. I really hope someone does a twin screw sc kit for our car. I'd pay.

Yeah, me too. If Greddy produce a CARB legal turbo there will be a lot of used Comptech SCs suddenly on the market.
If it's a bolt on kit with little in the way of tuning I'll prolly be one of those people

Yes, a carb legal turbo kit would be nice, but even if it wasn't i'm always open to having new products available to our cars. The only thing that I don't like about Greddy is that they are willing to bolt together a turbo kit for anything. Take a look at how many 350z's and rx8's (which make a whopping 60whp turbo'd) have blown up when they were boosted with their kits. I'm not saying its Greddy's fault, but it is kind of misleading to many people. Just my 2 cents, but I say the more the merrier when it comes to FI options and let the customer decide what he or she wants in the end.

You might want to change the title of your thread to get more views. Turbo vs. SC shows up weekly. I'm from Greddy, which should we make? might get more response.

Greddy kits are over priced and under powered.

You end up paying for a sticker that says it is emmisions legal, and then you bolt it on and inform the insurance company so it is covered in case of a loss and they inform you that they don't cover cars with drastic modifications that give big HP increases.

I went this road with my integra... my insurance company made me remove the JRSC I had (carb legal). When I called around first no one would touch me.

I had JRSC's on two Integra's and never once was asked if the car was modified. I never volunteered the info, but assumed that it would not be covered in case of loss (theft). I was involved in an accident which required the front bumper, radiator and hood be replaced and they did not say boo about the SC being in the car when the adjuster came out to look at the car. Accident was not my fault but the other driver did not have insurance.

What does this have to do with insurance companies?

Why would I want to inform the insurance company that I just doubled the hp in an alreay high risk sports car?

s2k67, I vote TURBO!

A CARB legal turbo is something that the S2000 market really needs to compete against Comptech and Vortech, but as others have said before, it needs to be a complete kit that is safe, otherwise, don't even bother.
