I want a 290 WHP kit that uses the emanage ULT (or similar) and does not require any relocation of battery, moving of A/C lines, etc.. and retains the full OBDII funtionallity.
You want the BRP supercharger.

If you want linear power increases check out the AFSC thread.

An Axial flow compressor (AKA compressor sided of a jet engine) has a linear boost profile and usally has an efficency greather than 85%.
Too bad it's not available...

I agree that a mild setup...guessing it will be the typical TD05-18g you guys use...would work quite well...fully spooled by 3.5-4k...hold boost to 9k...simple make 290whp or so and be CARB legal. Then, for those that want more power...bigger injectors, a little more boost, and better tuning and 350whp is easily possible with that turbo. The only thing I worry about with that turbo is if it is big enough to flow enough air to make power at only 6-7psi.
Horsepower/PSI ratings are far more dependent on the engine head and turbo header than the turbo. Almost all good turbo setups for the S2000 make around 20+ rwhp per psi, irrespective of the turbo. Some of the Lovefab guys have seen upwards of 23 whp per psi increases over stock.

One of the reasons the Evo engines need rediculous levels of boost to make big power is because of a relatively (to the S2000) restrictive engine head/exhaust header.

It is very difficult to compare boost levels among different engines. For instance, A Lovefab equiped S2000 running at a boost pressure of 6 psi has the ability to make the same or more power than an EVO on 18 psi. Overall mass flowrates may be the same between the two engines (hence the similar power levels), but boost levels may be completely different.

Coldside perhaps - Hotside requires cutting/moving of the AC lines, relo of the battery and (AFIK) modification of the radiator mount to tilt it back.

I want a clean, almost OEM looking, install that does not require much in the area of modifications to the car. I like the Lovefab kit, but again to many mods and I am gun shy based on some recent fitment feedback (though I am sure Cody will correct those issues if not already done).

Still - I want a solution that retains full OBDII (meaning AEM-EMS is out as an option), provides some nice HP/TQ and is fairly conservative in its tuning. I may just go CTSC, but would rather go turbo.

Why would you say it might not ever be...

Its not like the RX-8 version has been in development for +2 years now

FYI the RX-8 version is up and running(under driven) to 5psi no Aftercooler and only the appropriate amount of fuel added for increased mass flow rate RP gained 50whp.
With a bit of tuning and an after cooler I am sure this gain would be higher

Final design for both the S and the RX-8 will call for the Compressor to be an 8psi.
Being that this will be a linear boost profile gains should lie some where between a turbo and a centrifugal supercharger.

I think its the best FI option for the dollar. A nice turbo setup is just too expensive. A CTSC is too expensive for what little it gives you.

There are always going to be compromises. It is slightly more invasive...but I think the end result would be well worth it. I'd love to be able to floor it in traffic in a reasonable gear and actually accelerate for once. Playing Johny-Shiftsalot is fun, too...just not in traffic.

A CARB approved turbo would be cool but...

i agree with [QUOTE=CourageOO7,May 26 2006, 08:17 AM] a Twin Screw Supercharger kit.
