Default Turbo and stock compression

Well, I'm most likely going to be making the switch from the Vortech to a GT35R setup within a few weeks. I'm not going to be putting on a 3mm inlinepro head gasket for a while. I know the S/C can "generally" have a little more boost on stock compression than a turbo (~12psi max for S/C) due to not being fully boosted at lower rpm. Question is until I get a 3mm head gasket, what would be sufficient? I still would like to make some decent power and was thinking of getting it tuned somewhere in the ballpark of 8-9psi. Does this sound safe?

I ran 7.5psi for over 65k miles (~300whp on a small'ish turbo) with no problems at all

What kit are you going with? You could get around 400 whp on a Lovefab kit at 9 or 10 psi. Just have your tuner keep the timing back some.

I've run 10psi on my gt1 mani, gt3071r, for a couple months now with no major problems. Its really all about the tune and how much you trust your tuner's ability.

No problem. I was going to do the 3mm HG as well but I was more then happy with the power it made at 10psi, I decided to hold off till this winter and build the motor instead.
