Turbo Vs. S/C
A few years ago on my first S2000, I bought a greddy turbo kit but never installed it (and I'm glad I didn't). I am super paranoid about reliability and having issues.
This time around (second S2000) I bought a comptech S/C aftercooled kit with all the goodies necessary to hit 370-400whp. Well now that I have everything sitting around ready to get installed and tuned, I have been thinking, "should I have went turbo"?
I KNOW turbo kits "CAN" be as reliable as S/C kits but it seems statistically that they have more issues (more parts, more complex), but I'm sure having a ton of torque and HP from 3500RPM to redline is also badass. Don't get me wrong having a 370whp S2000 would be BAD ASS but after looking at the dyno charts is it worth the money to have 200whp until 6000RPM?
Which did you choose and why?
Did anyone ever do both?

Ive had a lot of turbo'd cars, and this is my first supercharged car. It depends on what your looking for, but i like the supercharger better. Both are awesome, but I like the way the sc is alot smoother throughout the rpms, as with a turbo it kinda kicks in harder once it spools, which is fun dont get me wrong.. Its nice that a turbo doesnt do much when your just driving around except probably help your gas mileage.. But when it comes time to race and im at 7k rpms next to a car, all i gotta do i floor it and im off, with a turbo you have some lag then your off.. plus and minus for everything though.. The comptech kit sure looks nice under the hood, and everything thinks its turbod when i pull up, then i tell them its sc'd and they seem to have more of a wow effect lol
Most of us get use to the power level we attain and want more. This is way easier on a turbo car then sc car that takes power to make power.
But if u become content with ur power then no need to worry. I got bored with 350 and now I'm bored with 450

Go big turbo, I walked away from both a Porsche Turbo last night and a brand new GT3 from a low mph roll, it's an amazing feeling
I made the mistake of thinking 300 was enough, for at leat the summer, I think my current power will keep me happy
Best thing is, if you run an AEM EMS (I run the series 2) after every session, drive etc, you can pull up the logs, I check duty cycle, knock, load & RPM, IATs, etc, it's a great way to know how the car is running
