Turbo either Lovefab or custom. For me a supercharger holds absolutely no advantage as CARB certification means nothing and I have a fair mechnical aptitude and a couple of the best EMS tuners in the industry within the same city. I expect superchargers to win your poll simply becasue they've been around longer and turbos seem to have a stigma associated with them on this site.

I agree, turbo is the way to go but people love to knock them on this site.

What are you planning to accomplish? Spirited Drives, Track, Auto-X, Light to Light or Highway Street Racing?
Saying "to hang with the big boys" can be alot of things. In our area Supercharged S2's are the big boys of Spirited Drives, Vettes hold it at the Track, Vettes hold it at the Auto-X, EVO VIII & STi hold it at the Light to Light and Civics hold it at the Highway Runs.
There are to many variables to make a choice. I have a Comptech Blower that I am rather happy with, but over time I'm starting to notice less Spirited Drives and more Highway Runs. Thus I have upgrading quite a few things with my Supercharger to get a little bit of extra power, but if this doesn't work I will probably end up going turbo since it will more suit my needs.

I had the comptech w/ac @ 9psi and liked it but did not like getting 9 psi for only 500rpms. I would like to get similar power but have it for around 4000rpms . So I had the supercharger for a month and sold it to built a custom turbo set-up. It should be done in 2 weeks. I'm going with a stage 2 T3/T4 and run one setting of boost around 6psi and another at around 8-9psi. Since my internals are stock, I don't think I will go beyond that.

The question simply favors the turbo. No doubt. Everybody wants the turbo but will they give the "power" for the longest time? Some may do but most of them don't. most of them would just hide their broken engines and spend more $$$ for new parts or engines. i know those guys and you know yourselves. This is a bias survey.

You want to explain how "Which kit would you use?" is biased?

I think he meant the turbo vs. supercharger survey is bias. And to a point it is. Imports favor turbos where domestic cars favor superchargers. That's the way it is, and the way it will always be. For me, the supercharger was great, but in my quest to make mad power and blow my engine...turbo is the only option

I think that might have something to do with superchargers being poorly suited to small displacement high revving engines...

A turbo will make more power but is harder to tune. If you want to "set it and forget it" then SC is the way to go I think. Also turbo will probably cost more money.

I personally like turbos better. Turbos are generic. If you dont like your setup it only costs a few hundred dollars to change your turbo.
