Default TurboXS KnockLite Knock Detection System

Think it'd be nice to have a visual warning if detonation is occuring. Anyone have any experience with this or something similar??

I just installed mine and it is being very sensitive. It is detecting knock andy car is basically stock with just intake and header and vafc. My afr is 13 to 12.5 toward redline and it still shows knock after about 5 k rpm. Anyone else experienced this? This worked awsome on my old 400whp 240sx.

data logging with my car n/a i found that i would get 1 additional volt of knock by removing the air box and just having the stock airfilter in the engine compartment. The knock sensor picks up a lot of noise from the motor, especially when the vtec cam engages. This not including things like open dump tubes and loud exhausts.

Have you try adjust senstivity?

6. Test Knock Thresholds
To test the base threshold settings, rev the engine and watch the LED. If the LED lights in an amber
or red color under free rev, then desensitize the KnockLite by pressing the programming button two
(2) times in moderately rapid succession. The LED will flash amber a number of times to indicate the
level of sensitivity. E.g. two flashes means Level 2 sensitivity. Low numbers more sensitive, high
numbers less sensitive. There are 10 levels of sensitivity, from 1 flash to 10 flashes.

BTW...you bump 4 yrs old thread....

Agreed with above. You are supposed to tune these to your specific application. It's essentially a microphone and you want to tune out any noise (such as the valvetrain or the Vtec changeover) that could be confused for knock. You want it set just above that ambient noise so any odd noises will set it off, detecting real knock...not normal engine noise at high rpm, etc...
